Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency and the resulting overall energy reduction have the following benefits:

energy meter

  1. It improves profits by reducing overheads
  2. It’s good for our planet by reducing greenhouse emissions
  3. The business future-proofs itself against expected emissions trading costs, or “carbon taxes” by achieving the required offsets upfront

Green Door Environmental has expertise in achieving energy efficiencies in a number of ways:

  • energy efficient motors and pumping equipment
  • control systems for energy efficiency
  • energy efficient building design and building retrofitting
  • energy reduction by identifying wasteful energy usage, and replacing or eliminating wasteful systems or practices

energy rating

Our typical approach is as follows:

  1. Full energy audit on the property, using our energy meter as well as manufacturer’s data for appliances.
  2. Identify systems and appliances that are inefficient in their use of energy.
  3. Investigate a range of solutions (including budget estimates) to reduce energy use.
  4. Investigate cheaper forms of energy (sources and supply companies).
  5. Investigate renewable energy options, eg solar power
  6. Carry out a cost-benefit assessment to identify the most cost-effective solutions – maximising reduction in energy within the available budget and requirements of the organisation.
  7. Advise the way forward towards carbon neutrality (or better!).

In summary, Green Door Environmental will help you to achieve cost-effective energy efficiency. We will:

  • save you money
  • future-proof you against rising electricity and emissions trading costs
  • help you to reduce greenhouse emissions.

Winners 2009 Green Door Grant - the following videos will be produced this year:

This video will document the unique perspective of Pacific region youth on the proceedings and outcomes of the The UN Climate Change Conference (http://en.cop15.dk/)in Copenhagen (Dec 2009).

I, WHALE

This video will create awareness of the inhumane practices of whaling. Close to two thousand whales are still killed every year for "scientific research."

NAIVE INTENT

This video will raise awareness of the increasing number of extinctions in the animal kingdom and the role of human activity in these extinctions.
